With the centenary of the First World War, there are many events and exhibitions happening across the country and around the world. Many of these are listed on websites such as the BBC’s comprehensive coverage - www.bbc.co.uk/history/0/ww1. As well as study materials it offers information about events, programme listings and new online material from the World War One season at the BBC, and you can sign up to an email newsletter.
IWM is leading the First World War Centenary Cultural Partnership and Programme, and its website - www.1914.org is another good source of information, with a searchable events calendar.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, on part of its website - www.cwgc.org/discover1418 also has links to commemorative events taking place on its sites and elsewhere.
The www.greatwar.co.uk website also has pages for events and remembrance projects, and has a good index of other organisations with a variety of special interests.
And other national organisations such as the Royal British Legion - www.britishlegion.org.uk - helps the whole Armed Forces community through welfare, companionship and representation as well as being the Nation's custodian of Remembrance.
